What are the tips for diesel generator sets in winter?

With the arrival of the winter cold wave, weather is getting colder and colder. Under such temperatures, the correct use of diesel generator sets is particularly important. MAMO POWER hopes that the majority of operators can pay special attention to the following matters to protect diesel generator sets from damage.

Firstly, fuel replacement

In general, the freezing point of diesel oil used should be lower than the seasonal minimum temperature of 3-5℃ to ensure that the minimum temperature will not affect the use due to freezing. Generally speaking: 5# diesel is suitable for use when the temperature is above 8℃; 0# diesel is suitable for use when the temperature is between 8℃ and 4℃; -10# diesel is suitable for use when the temperature is between 4℃ and -5℃; 20# diesel is suitable for use when the temperature is between -5°C and -14°C; -35# is suitable for use when the temperature is between -14°C and -29°C; -50# is suitable for use when the temperature is between -29°C and -44°C Or use when the temperature is lower than this.

Secondly, choose the appropriate antifreeze

Replace the antifreeze regularly and prevent leakage when adding it. There are several types of antifreeze, red, green and blue. It is easy to find when it leaks. Once you find that you have to wipe off the leak and check the leak, choose an antifreeze with a suitable freezing point. Generally speaking, the freezing point of the selected antifreeze is best to be low. Set aside the local minimum temperature of 10℃, and leave a lot of surplus to prevent sudden temperature drops at certain times.微信图片_20210809162037
